Temple Ohev Shalom opened its doors as host of the New Tampa's Interfaith Council's annual Thanksgiving event.  The "Thanksgiving in Our Faiths" was moderated by the congregation's past president, Dr. Mark Weissman, and featured Rabbi Mordechai Levy of Temple Ohev Shalom as well as several local community religious leaders from the Christian, Moslem, B'Hai and Hindu faiths. Of course, the highlight of the program was the Temple Ohev Children's Chorus performing to the delight of the crowd.

The event was well attended and its intention was to promote unity in the New Tampa community.  Weissman set the theme for the evening by noting

how, although with different beliefs, we all celebrate the uniquely American holiday of Thanksgiving in similar ways.

Each of the speakers then discussed how their respective religions view and celebrate Thanksgiving with the common message stressed by all of how we are all grateful and give thanks for much the same things such as family, friends, health, and our country.
